Who You'll Be Working With

Hey, I’m C. Jordan Alexander, but you can call me CJ. I help soulful, genre-fluid artists craft music that connects with people’s hearts and minds.

I’ve been producing and engineering since 2017, with formal training in Jazz composition and years working across genres.

I specialize in making complex musical ideas hit with immediate emotional impact. The music I make bridges sophisticated concepts and visceral feeling.

My philosophy is simple: music connects most powerfully through emotional expression, and everything else — technique, theory, aesthetics — serves that connection. When every element serves a unified purpose, music becomes transcendent. Nothing arbitrary, nothing wasted.

Common Questions & Answers

We spend 90 minutes talking about your music.

We explore what you’re trying to create, where you are with your material, and which service—if any—fits what you need.

If it makes sense, we talk about working together. If it doesn’t, we figure out what does.

No pressure, no obligation. Just clarity on whether this is the right fit.

My background is rooted in Jazz, R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, and Gospel—those are the traditions that shaped how I hear music.

I work best with artists who love blending influences and pushing boundaries within those spaces. If you’re making music that fuses these traditions in unexpected ways—art pop that draws from R&B, experimental hip-hop, genre-fluid work—we’ll click.

I’ve worked in rock and pop too, but genre-blending work in those core traditions is where I thrive.

Hybrid, depending on the service and what your project needs.

For Full Production and Co-Production: Pre-production is mostly remote with in-person sessions as needed. Recording happens in-person at studio spaces I partner with. Post-production (mixing, engineering) is remote from my home studio.

For Production Direction: Everything is remote—video calls and async feedback.

We figure out logistics based on your location and the project’s needs.

Artists who care about craft and won’t compromise vision for polish or edge for cohesion.

You’re making music that blends influences and refuses easy categorization. You need a partner who can handle complexity, help you take creative risks that actually land, and protect what makes you sound like you.

If you value honest feedback, thoughtful creative direction, and music that connects both intellectually and emotionally—this is probably right for you.

The Song Audit makes it clear.

We’ll talk about your music, where you are with your material, and what you’re trying to accomplish. From that conversation, it becomes obvious which service fits—or whether working together makes sense at all.

You don’t need to figure it out beforehand. That’s what the Song Audit is for.
