C. Jordan Alexander is an alternative jazz producer and the owner of Aural Alchemists.
He works as a music producer, composer, and audio engineer who blends Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop, and Gospel into emotionally compelling, meticulously crafted records.
CJ’s background is as an artist and musician who’s lead bands, toured as a sideman, and released music independently.

Biography
C. Jordan Alexander is a music producer, composer, and mixing engineer from the Chicagoland area — but you can call him CJ. He helps artists create emotionally compelling records by combining sophisticated musicality, bold sonic exploration, and deliberate craftsmanship.
CJ hails from a vibrant community of astounding musicians where he was immersed in Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop, and Gospel. He grew his musical foundation through community mentorship in performance and composition.
In addition to this foundation, CJ further developed his approach to music through studying Jazz Saxophone and Recording Arts at Northern Illinois University. There, CJ started his production career in 2017 with concert recordings and live sound in the NIU Recording Crew.
From there, he’s worked on all kinds of projects:
- Composing and producing original music as a bandleader.
- Touring internationally as part of the NIU Jazz Ensemble;
- Playing saxophone for rappers and singers in recording sessions.

In production, CJ has worked on artist projects ranging from DIY recordings in kitchens and living rooms to professional productions in commercial studio facilities. This covers singers, rappers, bands, and music/audio for video.
The sum of this production journey and his 15+ years as a musician and composer has led him to develop a holistic approach to music and collaboration. Today, CJ is focused on bridging the gap between artistry and production for serious, genre-fluid artists.

He serves as the musical director for Midwest Music Deposit — a NFP dedicated to building commerce and culture in the Midwest. CJ has produced and engineered the music for 50+ live music videos for MMD.
Additionally, CJ has worked as a staff engineer at Gravity Studios where he recorded and mixed all types of artists from rappers to rock bands, composed music for multimedia projects, and helped artists to navigate the chaos in the production process.
